The Silhouettes
Shibori

An ancient Japanese dyeing technique where fabric is carefully and individually bound, stitched, folded, twisted, or compressed before being immersed in dye, each method producing uniquely organic patterns. No two pieces are ever alike. Traditionally done by hand, Shibori transforms cloth into living art, capturing the subtle elegance of imperfection and the quiet luxury of time-honoured craft.
Haori

Originally worn over kimono, the Haori is a hip or thigh length jacket. A symbol of understated elegance in Japanese dress. Crafted in pure silk, it carries a soft, fluid drape and subtle sheen that reflects the quiet refinement of its wearer. Every vintage Haori tells a story, from the intricate inner linings to the handwoven patterns, each one a rare expression of craftsmanship, time, and grace.
MAE Black
Traditionally reserved for the most formal occasions, the black silk kimono embodies quiet strength and timeless elegance. On its back, intricate motifs are embroidered with metallic gold thread, or hand painted onto the fabric, a technique requiring extraordinary precision and care. These gilded details are not merely decorative, but symbolic, often representing prosperity, longevity, or protection. Each piece is a rare union of refinement and meaning, worn like a whisper of history.
